We specialise in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) and in particular high rise modular construction projects using concrete, steel and hybrid systems. We are vendor neutral, offering independent advice and peer review for DfMA projects. We also review the capacity and capability of modular fabrication factories.

We provide expertise in the research and development of DfMA & modular systems and have assisted suppliers in obtaining approvals from various the building authorities in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. We regularly share our knowledge at conferences and offer training in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA).

Our current projects are located in Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Maldives.

We provide development management services consultancy for Singapore and Malaysian owners developing property in Western Australia. Our clients benefit from our established relationships, network and knowledge gained over 30 years of living and working in Western Australia.

We manage the project design team and provide front-end design services for pre-acquisition due diligence, feasibility studies, preparation of design briefs, design competitions and development approval applications.

We specialise in the delivery of Design and Construct or Design and Build projects where there is an early contractor involvement on the design and cost control.

Alda periodically undertakes study tours of factories in different countries to review its capability and capacity.

In reviewing factories, Alda looks at 3 key success factors: competency of supervisors, preparation of shop drawings and procurement of materials.

Alda regularly shares our knowledge at global conferences and offer training in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) tailored to design professionals and property developers. Alda has conducted training for Building Authorities in Singapore and Hong Kong. It has also participated at DfMA seminars at Hong Kong University and Monash University.

Alda has experience developing patented modular systems in collaboration with engineers and fabricators in Australia, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong. Alda will act as the lead modular consultant from concept prototype to commercialisation of the patented systems.

We successfully deliver our projects through regular collaboration with other experts.

Andrew Lian, Director of Alda Consultants has over 30 years of architectural experience and is a sought-after expert in Modular Design and Construction. Andrew holds an MBA and is a registered Architect in Western Australia. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia. Andrew was previously a Principal of Woods Bagot, a leading international Architecture Firm. Today, he is a sought after speaker and expert in Modular Construction, lecturing in DfMA at the BCA Academy Singapore and University of Western Australia. He has also been a speaker at the Singapore Institute of Architects, World of Modular (USA) and UK OFFsite Conference. He is currently advising on modular high-rise development in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur adopting Modular Construction. Andrew previously served as Board Member of Prefabaus, Australia’s peak body promoting offsite construction. Andrew resides in Perth, Western Australia.
